We are delighted to introduce our first speaker for the Learning Disability Leaders Conference 2026.
Meet Tim Dallinger, Social Care Consultants Ltd
Tim Dallinger is a specialist in social care consultancy, with deep expertise in Learning Disability services. At the conference, Tim will be presenting on one of the most important and sometimes most misunderstood areas of support practice:
Person-led, outcome-focused care planning for people with a learning disability
Why this matters
Care planning sits at the heart of good support. When it is done well, it gives people real control over their own lives, reflects what matters to them, and drives meaningful outcomes. When it is not done well, it can become a compliance exercise that misses the person entirely.
In Learning Disability services, person-led care planning is not just best practice, it is essential. People supported by LD services have the right to be the experts in their own lives, and the support around them should reflect that.
Tim will explore what genuine person-led, outcome-focused care planning looks like in practice, how to move beyond paperwork and towards plans that actually guide and improve daily support, and how to bring people with a learning disability into the process as true partners.
